CHRIS MOFFATT

Chris has lived in New Mexico most of his life. He graduated Cum Laude from UNM in 2005 with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Social Welfare. He knew that he wanted to go into social work after chasing his dream of writing and playing music, focusing on becoming a better musician for the next decade.

In 2016, he went back to school to attain a Master’s in Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University, which he achieved in 2018. He worked at Fathers Building Futures for the next three years, writing grants, advocating for policy changes, and crafting a parenting group for the clients to give them the parenting skills to potentially reunify with their children. The work with families of those who had been formerly incarcerated awoke a desire within him to help the children of the state gain better opportunities. He practices his therapy using a Rogerian Humanistic base, which allows him to connect with clients where they are at.
